Protocol Action: 'Fibre Channel Management MIB' to Proposed Standard



The IESG has approved the following document:

- 'Fibre Channel Management MIB '
   <draft-ietf-ips-fcmgmt-mib-06.txt> as a Proposed Standard

This document is the product of the IP Storage Working Group. 

The IESG contact persons are Allison Mankin and Jon Peterson.

Technical Summary
 
This document describes managed objects for information related to
Fibre Channel.  It also establishes an IANA registry for Fibre Channel
Port Types.
 
Working Group Summary
 
 This MIB is a complete re-start of the Fibre Channel MIB, independent
 of the one begun in the concluded IPFC WG.  During chartering of
 the IPS WG, experts on Fibre Channel, the chairs, the Fibre Channel
 IPS coordinators, OPS and Transport ADs, and others supported restarting
 this MIB in the new WG.
 
Protocol Quality
 
The document was reviewed by Mike MacFaden of the MIB Doctors, Bert Wijnen,
 and Allison Mankin for the IESG.   

Expert Reviewer Appointment by the IESG

The IESG appoints Roger Cummings, roger.cummings at veritas.com, 
for the Fibre Channel Port Types Expert Reviewer role defined in this
document.
